I've folded the Leafhopper (EXCELLENT) and the chicken. I'll probably post photos this weekend. And I'll also fold some more.

All right, here's what I've got.

Image
Leafhopper by Ryan Welsh, from a 15cm square of Japanese foil.

Image
Chicken, by Ryan Welsh, from a 15 cm square of origami paper.

Image
Snail, by Ryan Welsh, from a 15cm square of Japanese foil.

All really cool and fun to fold. The chicken look much better in person though. It cute, but not as mature as the other two. The leafhopper is truly excellent. It reminded me of Origami Insects and their Kin era Robert Lang, but with a sophisticated Montroll flair. (Looked like Lang but folded with the ease of Montroll). The snail was really neat and interesting. But the leafhopper takes the cake.

Thank you so much for putting these up. The chicken is plain ugly to my opinion. At the time it seemed pretty ok. I also found the last pages of my weevil, which is very nice to my humble opinion. Kinda in the style of origami insects and their kin and a very nice and efficient base. I showed it to Dr. Lang at the time and he agreed it uses the paper very efficiently.

BTW Jared: you seemed to have missed a spot for the snail: the layers of the head are wrapped around to keep the eyestalks and antennae together...

Haha. Well, I did fold that part, but sometime in between folding it and taking the picture the eyestalks and antennae came out from under.
