Need help with biplane
I'm attempting to create this
http://dev.origami.com/images_pdf/biplane.pdf
but I can't for the life of me figure it out. I'm no Origami pro, but I know my way around ... anyways, I'm just having a lot of trouble with this one. First off, I don't entirely understand the "collapse" step in step 8. Well actually ... I can't really get through steps 8 - 12 at all.
It just seems like it's missing a few pictures ... what small flap? (step 11). I think I'm getting passed step 11 okay, but step 12 I don't get it all ... I understand the basic concept of sinking, but I just don't get what's going on here ... what am I sinking?
I don't know if I'll be able to get though it even if I get passed step 12, but I'm stuck, and I want to finish this. If I need more help ... I'll ask for it.
Anyways ... thanks for any help.

In step 11 you take a single flap on the front right and bring it over to the left. Hidden under this flap there should be this small little triangle that you have to sink in half. Afterwards bring the single flap back to the right.
If you do not succeed I can upload some pictures, but first try it yourself.

ok, i will explain step 11 to make it clear on step 12, as you can see on the diagram on step 11, turn the flap FROM right to left and for step 12 after doing step 11 you will see a flap in a shape of a half kite shape, you will need to fold it in half vertically and close sink the crease you made in folding in half.(note: this here makes the wings of the biplane.)
if u still can't do this, i think u will need to see if you did the steps properly...
gl and happy folding

He doesn't get step 8.mrchief128 wrote:first off, i don't entirely understand the "collapse" step in step 8...well actually...i can't really get through steps 8 - 12 at all.
All right, believe me when I say I am a pro, and this is a very very difficult model. You haven't even come near the hard parts.
Sorry, the only way I think we can explain this step is to take a photo/video of it. And I don't have the equipment to do that. Maybe someone else can?
Good luck though!
yes, i agree with origamimasterjared this is a very hard model, took me over 10 time untill i got it right... (without any help
)
ok, if you have messed u on the collaspe step, dont worry, you dont have to do it to get to step 9. ok heres how u do it...
from step 6 dont do what he did but make it shape like it did, what u do is u turn one flap over from right to left then fold the right flap onto the middle of the line, repeat on the left side. After you have done it pull the two square apart and you will see a square in the middle with a dimond in it, crease the dimond and fiddle untill u get to step 9, its hard to explin in details but its not hard

OK.. I'll try to explain it with pics
This is how the paper should look like (top view) by the time you get to step 11:

Spread open the flap, so you can see the small triangle flap:

Fold it half way to the center point to make crease mark for the sink (and then unfold it):

And then here's the sink result:

sorry if it's not clear enough. I made this in hurry..
Totally agree with Jared.. very hard model indeed. Haven't finished the model myself.
You'll find much harder steps in the model.
Good luck!!!

thanks alot guys...i realize that this is probably a bit over my skill level, but i just want to be able to make one sweet origami model....i think i know how to get passed step 12 now...i got to it, i just didn't get the sink fold right...i think i was doing it right, but i couldn't get it to go at first, and then after repeated attempts, the paper got to mutilated for further use...anyways, what i'm saying is that i think i know HOW to get to step 12, not i just need more practice...i let you guys know how i do...i'm sure once i get passed step 12 i'll need more help, but...until then...
