To satisfy my curiosity, and collect all this information in one place, let's try to put together a list of what was in each JOAS special edition:

• 2001 and earlier: ?
  
  I think Kawahata's Brachiosaurus was in one of them. Kamiya's Ryu-zin 2.1 CP was in the calendar in 2001, but were there diagrams of something else too?
  
  2000: Kawahata Fumiaki - Brachiosaurus Skeleton
  
  2001 : Kamiya Satoshi - Ryu-zin 2.1 CP calendar.
  
  2002 : Hojyo Takashi - Icarus
  
  2003 : Kawahata Fumiaki - Formula 1 Racer

  2006 : Komatsu Hideo - Giraffe (and Kawahata had a deer in there too)
  
  2007 : Kamiya Satoshi - Hermit Crab
  
  2008 : Hojyo Takashi - Vajrapani
  
  2009 : Kamiya Satoshi - Horse
