Pegasus 2.2 by Kamiya - Does it exist?
I was hoping someone knew if the crease pattern for Kamiya's Pegasus 2.2 existed anywhere, and/or where I could obtain such an artifact.

Don't make me get metaphorical with you.
Cool, where did you find that photo? The wings are great, but the head looks a bit strange? The body looks very much like his Sleipnir body.

To be honest, I only like the wings on this version! And the mane. The rest is not that nice. The legs look very thick. I think it would be better without the hair above the hooves and slimmer legs. But hey, who am I to criticise Kamiya!
If he could put these wings on his tenma horse... now that would be nice!
Another question, the Pegasus that Satoshi folded for the 2008 Origami TV Challenge, was it the same as the one in his book, or was that also a different Pegasus? I thought it looked different, but didn't really pay that much attention.
And again, where did you get the photo for this Pegasus?

It's on his website, Quentin: http://www.folders.jp/g/2002/0241.html
Thanx Jared. Wow, made in 2002! I thought it had to be a new design!

Wow, I post a topic and come back a couple hours later and already there are five responses! I sure am not used to this sort of speedy forum.
Thank you Master Jared for posting the link; that's where I got the picture from. The site said there were no diagrams or crease patterns, but it was dated 2002, so I was hoping that there might have been an update.
In my opinion, the head does need to be a bit larger, but the legs are fine. If you think biologically, it would need large legs to support the increased mass of the wings, as well as to propel it to faster-than-horse speeds to be able to lift off and fly for a good distance. But that's just me

Biologically, horses could never grow wings out of their backs. They'd probably grow out of their legs, and their bodies would be much more aerodynamic.
I should ask my brother to paint a "real" horse with wings,

If they grew wings out of their legs, walking and running would be very difficult because of the wind resistance that the wings are designed to create. Furthermore, they would have to essentially run when they were in the air to fly, meaning their legs would never get rest as long as the horse was moving. Aerodynamically speaking, they would want a small, streamlined head with non-feathered, obliquely curved wings that catch the air underneath them, requiring minimal flapping power.
This is turning into quite the interesting conversation! I'm taking it, then, that all efforts for finding the crease pattern have failed?

I meant the limbs they already have would grow into wings, not grow out of them, oops :-/. Anyway, it's not like we're ever going to see a flying horse in our lifetimes, possible the world's...
But no, if a crease-pattern did exist outside of Kamiya's private stash, I'm sure it'd be strewn across the internet already. If a CP or diagram exists, it's not hard at all to find if you search some of the other forums...

Well, I've been looking at different pictures of a Pegasus. The wings on all of them are different. When it comes to origami Pegasii, most of the simpler ones have wings coming out of the backs (spine), whereas the more complex and realistic ones the wings come from the top of the legs.
I feel the wings should come from the rear of the shoulder-blades.
That is what I tried in my SuperHorse model.

When I have time I will do a plain Pegasus, and perhaps a Pegasus with hair at the hooves, like my Unicorn

it's a little confusing, i think, as on his website and other places kamiya refers to this (and other pegasi) as "tenma."
edited: the tenma is listed as being diagrammed in 2005. there is a thread where some ppl figured out the cp:

Well 'Tenma' is written 天馬. The 'Ten', 天, stands for divine, and 'Uma', 馬, means horse, so together they mean pegasus.
And just to be clear, that posted link is a different model than the one asked for.

The character by itself means 'sky'. By extension, it means 'heaven'. So a better translation would be 'sky horse' or 'heavenly horse'. To call it 'divine' would be a judgment on the part of the viewer, not a part of its name.JeossMayhem wrote:天, stands for divine
Yes, I am that Joseph Wu. Not that it really matters. And please call me Joseph or Joe. "Mr. Wu" is my dad.
