A Giant Model?

hey does anybody know where i can get a model for a GIANT origami diagram roughly 3 metres high or anywhere near that and not too complicated. thanks.

I think you mean diagrams for a giant origami model...not a model for a GIANT origami diagram...

Anyway, the size of the model depends on the size of the paper, not the...size of the diagrams. But obviously simpler models end up larger then complex models of the same paper size, so you should start with those.

Kawahata's apatosaurus is great model for this purposes. It is (relatively) easy and almost copy size of the diagonal of the used square. So you need just square about 2 meters in size.

get a 2.3 meter square and make ancient dragon out of it the modle will be 1.2 meters long with a 30cm standing height and a 1.2 meter wing spand.

Speaking of giant Ancient Dragons, I've seen pictures of one about that size... What sort of paper could you do that with and have it look good (and keep its shape)?

I'd try something thick, maybe wetfolded because it needs to support it's own weight. Elefant hide could work, but I'm not sure where you could obtain such a large sheet of it.

You can glue several sheets together. Overlaping about 5 cm is enough.

call a news paper printing company for the largest paper they have and if you can't shape the model spray strach it into the shape you want it.
