Never seen before - how do you make?

Post by Nicole Faith »

Hello all,

I have a question about how to make something I have only seen once and only from one photo. I am new to origami folding and am planing to make all my flowers for my wedding from paper. I had already figured out what I wanted to do when I came across this image on a photographer's website and fell in love. Being that I couldn't contact anyone related (because the photographer wouldn't know and wouldn't give out the client's contact info), I am searching for experienced people who may be able to help by just looking at the photo.

I have some understanding of what I have to do, but I can not figure out the shape the paper needs to be to get the points to fold correctly into the center? And I can not get the corners to be as "rounded" as the image's. Any help would be amazing as this is something special I want to do for my wedding! If someone can give me a step-by-step or a link to where they have come across this?

I don't know how to fold that, but this site http://www.origamee.net/index.html has many similar designs.

Thank you for the link! Lots of neat designs on there.

This however, I think, this is just a simple flower within a flower and then each is attached to a floral foam ball with glue and decorative pearl pin. (all assumed and how I would assemble anyways)

So really I am just looking for how to fold the flower, not how to create a modular ball.

Is something like this what you're looking for? You can get rid of the leaves-just start with a square and fold the center rose from it.

Jonnycakes - that IS pretty darn close! I will test that out and see how it goes with removing all the leaves or finding a way without the leaves. I also contacted the person who made the video as well. Thank you!

Anyone else have a quicker version is welcome still!!

So that actually worked really well. I am still just trying to work out the details - the folds that tuck still look like crap, but I was able to figure out how to make it without the leaves. So thank you very much for the link!!
