Can someone help me with the Coelacanth model from the most recent Tanteidan magazine.Is the finished model supposed to be asymmetrical? How do you collapse it?
I find it hard because I don't know what is mountain and valley. How is it supposed to look after collapsing it? The top of the model can't connect with the other half without folding extra lines. Are all the lines that need to be folded already there or do I have to add some lines?
I took the time to try out this model, the reference points are not very clearly shown on the crease pattern. The model is not assymetrical aside from the fact that one of the fins in the corners is folded up and the one on the opposite side is folded down, and there are a few creases missing near where the pelvic fins (the two on the middle of the crease pattern) are. Mountain and valley folds are shown on the crease pattern. I found the model to be rather annoying and I didn't really end up with a very presentable end result. But it's always nice to see coelacanths receive the recognition they deserve
