Hi all,
I'm trying to figure out how to sew my kusudama together. The book is a little vague. I've made all the units and I've sewn them together in groups of 8 (per instructions). Now I'm at the point where it's supposed to all come together and it isn't. The instructions state to take 2 pieces of thread and knot in the middle, then lay one of the groups of 8 (in a ring) on top, followed by fishing the string evenly between the units (in my case 2-3-2-3 spacing). Here's where I'm confused. That numbering adds up to 10 units. Plus, am I supposed to sew through the point of the unit and fish the thread up through it? The book says to just place the other units on top of the first. Am I using the same thread that was tied in the middle, or tying new threads for each layer? How do I pull 2 strings and have it form a ball? Actually, which 2 strings do I pull (now that I have at least 4)?
Thanks!
Pam

Hello Pam,
I've done few models from Tomoko Fuse book Kusudama and they are lovely. I managed to ensemble the units after I saw someone doing it in our local meeting. It is hurd to explain the method in words or drawings.

Thanks!
Thank you so much! I've been trying to find a video of that process without success. For some reason, what's in the book was very confusing for me. Now I understand what I'm supposed to do and it makes sense. I really appreciate you help.
