^^ The instructions are really easy to understand, it's a fun modular origami module that i recently discovered.
Now i just need to track down 270 origami squares so i can make the full size one

well in the past 3 months i have gone full drive into modular origami making ~6000 sheets into different models. the 270 piece ball that you are talking about with those pieces does not hold too well. if you wanted to make it so it would somewhat hold together i would advise you to use small paper(5cm). also there is a 390 piece one after that

but it kinda stops looking like a ball. ive made a couple of em lol. for those types of modular origami units i would adivse you to make a ball either 30 or 90 pieces. 30 can be done in 40min-1hour and 90 is just under 4 hours depending on if you know how to put the pieces together. if you like i can post pictures of the 390 piece one.

i tried the model. the cube is damm simple .The 12 piece is kool.the 30 piece rocks..... but i need help with the 270 piece ecpot ball....
can any one help me?

Wow! 6000? I'm not sure i even own that many sheets of paper. Thanks for the small paper tip.
I love modular origami, it's much easier to stunning results!

The highest i've gone is 30 piece. It's great!
I'm just wondering if there's a more... in betweeny one. 30 to 270 seems a big step - anybody good at maths help me out?

For modular models I recommend you to take note block paper. It is very cheap and comes in big quantities as well as nice colours. Most of the time it is cut square very accurately.

you think 6000 is a lot? i used it all up in less than 3 months. i baught 23000 sheets this week.

also it does not jump from 30 to 290 there is a 90 piece one in the middle. i personnaly like the 30 ones the most but the 90 is the second best. the 270 depening on what units you are using can look nice as well or can start to look bad. and then 380(dont remember the number) starts to look pretty poor. poor as in looses the shape of a sprere.

i went around to what i had to take some pictures but sadly i dont have many, all the models i make i give away.

ill try and track down some of my other models. heres a picture of my paper

the site that i like a lot for paper is kim's Crane. it has the nice paper that i like and the designs i like, i would advise you not to use not block paper because it is rather thick. the origami paper with printed designs in mass quanity normmaly feel very nice and are very easy to work with besides the fact that the prints are not centered lol.

i love modular origmai, i watch tv shows while folding and fold nonstop.

theres lots of things you can do with modular origami this is just a VERY small sample of it

Seriously, i feel like such a beginner. It's about time i brought some more paper too, i haven't splashed out in ages

now if only i can talk my mum into letting me go origami shopping... (i'm only 14)

if you don't have much money or your mom wont let you spend much buy it online, its much cheaper and buy bulk amounts. like 1000 sheet variety packs of 2.5in(5cm paper) its the best for most modular origami. but make sure you get a print or else it wont be as interesting with solid colors

In my opinion plain colours look much nicer, I'd always go for the packs without print.

Kim's crane won't ship to the UK without me spending a minimum $50 - shame, i found some awesome stuff on there (that came to $22). I'm gonna seek out a UK site, thanks for the help.

ya depending on the model solid colors can look rly good. but models with prints give em a look of being more complex then they really are

also it was harder to get lots of solid color paper with that origami paper feel.
