I use MC that costs 5 euro's per 250 grams. I can make about 15 liters of MC with it. Paying $2,75 for so little MC is indeed very expensive.

I went to a hardware store and got a small cardboard milk carton box of wallpaper glue/sizing.

Cost me like 2 bucks and I don't see myself running out anytime soon. Works great. Glad I took the time to try mc'ing my paper and making double tissue and foil.

What is Methy Celuloid? Is it a glue the normal transparent glue? or is it a starch like whitish solution. make a kind of starch before add water with corn flour and it will become starch.. but mehyl celuloid.. is there chemical on it or water base? is it sticky? or is it will provide shiny effect on the paper.. cause i using the white paper 56 gram paper.. which is too thin and it tear easily.. i wonder if i dip this paper in the solution will it make it thicker or stronger... (not prone to tear plus water proof)

Methylcellulose is a non-reactive chemical that dissolves in water to produce a thick, colorless goo that can be used to size paper. It is slippery, but not sticky or volatile in any way. Applying it to paper won't make it any stronger, but it will make it more foldable. MC makes paper crisper and makes it wet-foldable if it isn't sized already. Also, you will want to coat the piece of paper with a brush, backed by a flat, hard surface. The side of the paper that touches the flat surface as it dries will have a shiny coat to it, but the other side will not.

Your paper, at 56 gsm, should not be too thick for most origami. The problem is more likely that the paper is made with short, low-quality fibers such as wood pulp. Higher-quality paper contains longer fibers, meaning a much stronger paper, even if it is thinner than 56 gsm. There are many topics on the forum dealing with different kinds of paper.
