Looking for : sea shells

Post by gradenne »

Hi, I'm looking for sea shells diagrams/CP, preferably 3D ones.

I have already folded Deruda's conchiglia, Kawasaki's Spirail Snail and Sea Snail from "Origami for the Connoisseur" and Lang's conches and murex from "Origami Sea Life", and I would like to fold other shells that have the same qualities, that is "solid" appearance and elegance of design.

Ultimately, I would like to design my own sea shell models, that is why I want to fold as many sea shells as possible, to develop a repertory of design methods efficient for this tpe of model.

If you know of diagrams or CP hat are not free (i.e. in books or magazines) please post references, I am not opposed to buy a book just for one or two models, if they are worth it and if the price is not excessive.

Toshiyuki Meguro's Snail, in Tanteidan Convention Book 12. The shell is just like the real thing.

Oh yes, I forgot to mention this one, because it's not a "sea" shell. But I agree, the shell is really nice. I have not yet folded the whole snail, I found the shell alone (described in the pages juste before the snail's) much more interesting !

As far as I remember (I may be wrong), Satoshi's amazing shell's CP are found in his site.
Also, my fave shell- David Derudas Seashell, the diagrams can be found on his site.

This was a challange on forum. It's really nice and beautiful shell but quite hard. Recommend to use better paper than 80g/m^2 and bigger than A4 bacause you'll have some problems at the top :)
