Wow! All these pigs. I'm really happy you have enjoyed the pig. It shows that complex is not always the way to go!
Sara, thank you for folding and putting it on your website!
Froy, great pig!
Hank, I/m not very good at wet-folding, so I think I have acquired some dry-folding skills as a result of fear of wet-folding!!! I sometimes stroke the concave side of the paper (while supporting the two ends with my other hand) to get it rounded. Kind of like the "counting money" action. This only works if there are 2 or more layers (I think).
I hope that helps?

Yes well we can only fold so many pigs, 8) . Is it true you have a book in the works? I believe I read so, but can not find any info when I actually try and look.

I have 2 more models to diagram and then the others to put finishing touches on. When that is done, I'm gonna send it off to the publisher and take it from there.
If it doesnt work out with the publisher, I will probably self-publish, as most of the work is done already.
I am aiming for mid next year, but this is a first for me, so I can't say for sure.
qtrollip wrote:So what I'm aiming for is 20-25 models, which need to be diagrammed into about 150 pages.
I want to include mammals, birds, fish/water animals, masks and human figures.
Difficulty will be Intermediate to Complex. Most of the models, however, wil be in the Complex range (but not Super Complex).

I tried Quentin's suggestions for shaping, and my model looks much less like a dog or like bacon than the previous models :-) My wife took the multicolored washi model to work to put on her desk, and a friend at work who graduated from Univ of Arkansas (USA), "stole" the other two off of my desk, because their mascot was the razorback hogs.

Even though my model is still blind and on tiptoe, I like the pig personality that Quentin designed this with, just like the border collie personality of that model.

Thanks again,
Hank Simon

These four pictures are the same model with different effects and backgrounds.
