Gallery of Zoraz

Post by Zoraz »

One thing Ive noticed is these gallery posts seem to include lots of other people critiquing works, thus helping the folder improve. So, I think its time for me to start one of these. So, here goes.

One of my first and favorite designs (and the only presentable one):
a baby dragon.

Fairy, by Sunburst

God of Thunder, by Hojyo Takashi

I'll start with these three, and update whenever I fold something.
Please give opinions / constructive criticisms!

I agree with Anna, though the tail seems abit untidy.

I like the dragon too. The colour change on the wings is especially nice.

Thanks for the compliments, everyone!
Heres something else I designed just a few days ago, this is only my first fold with good paper though.

Because your paper has limited colors only, it would be hard to capture the expression of your piece. However, it is still very good. Is it box-pleated?

A Mettaur, how neat! The color changes are nice too. Is it boxpleated? Also, I like your dragon. The head is really cute, although the tail is kind of wierd looking. Maybe because the tail should be thinner.
And I see you tried my faerie. It looks great! Did you manage to color-change the wings? I can't really say because of your mono-colored paper. The sleeves appear to be missing, too.

Legionzilla: Yeah, the mettaur is box pleated, 32x32. I would do yellow and black, but I don't have any black tissue paper. It would be possible to color change eyes, but they would be yellow.

Sunburst: The paper is acutally 2 color, green and yellow. I didn't even know there was a color change! As for the sleeves, I decided to make them into a second pair of wings instead. They just seemed a little awkwardly placed for sleeves, and were the perfect size for wings.

Don't expect anything else from me until after the convention: I'm out of paper, and don't really have time to make more, thanks to me working 8 hour shifts every day before leaving for NY. And thanks for the compliments!

Well, I'm back from the convention! Heres some of the things I made there.

Swan, unknown designer, taught to me from someone in the hospitality area.

Nicholas Terry's Yeti, taught by him in his class!
Image

Sipho Mabona's Swallow. Both this and the tiger were taught to me by Sipho.

Sipho Mabona's Onizuka Tiger

and Andrey Ermakov's Giraffe, diagrams from the '09 collection. Also, I learned that Tant should not be used for really complex models.

The camera is really shaky, so it is hard to see the quality of the designs. The best folded should be the Giraffe, though some of the others are sloppily folded. Still, well done!

I should have noted that all the pictures I took were the models I folded while being taught, as in my first try rather than my third ones. Also, they are foil backed kami, which I'm not really used to using. I will repost them once i make them out of my usual double tissue though!

Finally got around to making more double tissue! With my first sheet, I made Miyamoto Shintaro's Sceptile.
