Hugo Pereira - Japanese Devil

Post by Washi »

Hello, guys. I was just having some problems with the Chinese Devil model. I was fine all along, until I hit problems with steps 33, 34, and 35. Can someone help me?

Those steps have to be done almost simultaneously. Do not overlook the two arrows on the sides telling you to push the paper from the outside to the center. In the end of the sequence, every half of that horizontal valley crease, would end up together.

The whole idea is to form something like one of the points of a bird base. It is almost the same "move" as in step 16.

Hope this helps.

Here's a video I made for those steps.

Maybe this thread should be merged with viewtopic.php?t=869

I don't mean Maekawa's Devil. I mean the Chinese Devil from here: http://hugo.pereira.free.fr/Origami_Dia ... evil_2.pdf

....aaaaaand that's why you need to tell us the title and author of the piece you're trying to fold (and where to find it)! "Chinese Devil" does not tell us that you're folding Hugo Pereira's variation of Jun Maekawa's Devil, called "Japanese Devil".

Ditto.

Anyway, this thread made me want to fold this model I had been procrastinating for years. I think I'll make a video of steps 46 to 49 which are not well explained and then come back to this forum to ask for help in some steps beyond those that I hadn't been able to complete.

Step 39

Post by uffish »

I'm stuck in step 39. It says "carefully unwrap one trapped layer of paper", but I don't see how it can be done, as the flap from where I'm suppose to unwrap it continues to the whole thing. Can someone help me?

Thx,
