Ryan Welsh - Leafhopper

Post by FrumiousBandersnatch »

Alright, so I've tried step 50 of the Leafhopper (http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/232756/Leafhopper.pdf) like a dozen times, and google and forum searches result in nothing helpful. Wondering if anyone can clarify? I can't seem to get the shape in 51.

Hi FrumiousBandersnatch,

Thanks for folding a design from Origami Weekly!

First thing though, we really would appreciate if rather than a direct link to the PDF, you posted a link to the page in our online magazine, either the Flickr or blog location. That way people can see the other stuff we have. Thanks!

Anyhow, it's just one of those stretchy spread sinks, like when you fold a stretched bird base.

Does anyone know the reason it says "File damaged, could not be repaired" when I try to access the diagrams?

Y'know, you're not the only person who's had that issue. I don't understand it myself, and I've never had a problem with it. Have you tried to actually download the PDF, as opposed to just opening it in your browser? That may be the issue--besides, wouldn't you rather keep a copy on your computer for future foldings? We appreciate the page hits of course :)

Let me know if that helps, and failing that, PM me your email address and I'll send them to you.

How would you download it? When I right click on the link, it has not download option; also, I wouldn't be able to save it on my computer from the save option on the opened file, as I can't open it. And I don't see any download sign on your website. I'll just send you my email, that would be a lot easier.

Usually when you right click on the link there should be some option like "Save target as". For me it works out to save the file this way and open it then. Can't open it in the web browser either.

Not trying to be mean or something but where and when did I grant permission to publish my diagrams online???

I know I sent them to some of you but I'd wished someone would have asked me permission first...

I'm so very sorry, Ryan. I've already explained the situation privately. And I do hope you'll accept our sincerest apology.

If it's any consolation, I had an excellent time folding it. And it made a crappy movie (mission impossible 3) seem better...which is magical in itself.

I am a bit shocked the model is still online, so please remove it! I do not like these diagrams and made brand new ones for OUSA:

It also explains the step you were having troubles with:
