Quick update: Test fold for the Water Scorpion has been completed. CP has been drawn up.
I am diagramming and compiling all of my designs into a book that I will add onto over time. I have designed a new model: A Roadrunner (not the cartoon one, the real one. If anyone wants to see my compilaton book, please PM me. And finally, I can't upload pictures from my camera, because I have misplaced the import wire.
Cheers! :)

Hi! It's been a long while since I've been active on here. I deleted my Dropbox years ago, so some things, like my Dragonfly Varileg guide, are lost to time. I may still have other things, though! Email me if you have any questions.

Alright, so i finally got a camera import cable back from my dad, so now I can show you guys my two newest designs. The light in the photos isn't the best, so please excuse that.

Roadrunner

Folded from some really nice paper that I got from a guy at the Origami Society of Toronto, which I MC treated.

Water Scorpion

This one is just a test fold of the design, I still need to make some double tissue for it. Folded from some yellow-ish tracing paper. In my next fold of it, i will try to devote more paper to the fore-legs.

Head Detail: note the eyes.

Correction: Water scorpion. It doesn't have pleats on the back. But thanks for the suggestion! :)

Hey ftang, can you please internalize that pleat on the water scorpion? Or at least do this: Reverse fold the internal layers of the pleat. Open unsink that section. Then closed sink it back under to lock it.

Also, I'm used to roadrunners being a lot taller and blue. :)

For the roadrunner you should make the neck get thinner as it reaches the head. Also the thighs should be wider at the top. I like what you've done with the head.

You mean the pleat on the top half of the water scorpion? That is supposed o be the abdominal section. It refused to stay flat like the rest of the body, mostly because most of the layers in that pint were folded under, but mostly because the paper didn't want to stay in position. I'll probably just MC it down in the final folding of the model.

And with the roadrunner, I was focusing on making a more realistic representation of the actual bird.

Hey, everybody, it's been a while since I've posted, so just a quick update.

I am currently in the process of writing a guide on how to use Inkscape for origami diagramming, and will put it up in the Diagrams and Crease-Patterns section of the forum when it is completed.

I have also begun work on the diagrams for the Roadrunner.

Diagrams for the Snow Shovel will be up by the end of winter break.

Cheers,
Ftangdude55 :)

Good to hear! :)

I think I'm okay at making diagrams with inkscape, but there's probably many things I've missed. Can't wait, keep up the good work!

Here is the Crease Pattern for my Swordsman, which is the model in my profile pic. A full post about it can be found on my blog; the link to it is in my signature.
