All right, so who else is hittin' San Francisco for some PCOC action this November?

Also, feel free to discuss any convention-y things. Planning to teach, exhibit. Need advice, want to meet up, etc.

I'm planning on going, as long as time permits... already done my fair share of origami travel this year so far.

But it's hard to miss San Francisco! Love it!

Looking forward to meeting some more local folders, and seeing others of my favorite bay-area origami friends!

You guys should go. Airfares are as cheap as they'll ever be, and they've an incredible deal on the hotel. I've stayed there, and it is really plush. I have to teach class during the convention and can't go. Gotta work. Hate it when that happens.

Eric, you've been all over the world to conventions this year, so I could understand if you couldn't make it. But I'm glad to hear you'll be there! Are you going to teach any Tess classes in SF?

Well I'm registered and tickets are all lined up so I'll be there... but not teaching any classes. apparently I missed the window to register for teaching.

I suspect I'll be doing some impromptu teaching in the common folding area, though...

I'm sure you can still teach if you want, Eric. You just don't get the automatic line pass for classes. I'm glad I signed up to teach, 'cause my priority numbers suck.

It's usual at Origami conventions that everyone wears name buttons.

It's easy for people to identify you if you take a lot of silly photos of yourself and post them on Flickr... that's how I do it :)

They said the deadline for teaching registration was Oct 7, and my priority numbers are way at the bottom... but that's OK. I am planning on just enjoying this convention as an attendee, and maybe actually take a class or two, rather than teaching anything. Maybe informally, I suppose.

Btw, OrigamiMagiro, I met a kid at POP in Beverly Hills last month who is a big fan of folding your CPs (I think Jared's met him, as well). He was babbling on and on about your stuff and how enjoyable it is to fold your rooster.

PCOC was great! I met Anderw, Jason and Jared at the conference. And Eric too for that matter, but I'd met him in New York a few months ago

I took lots of pictures and have posted a bunch of them on my flickr site. Lucky for you all, I filtered them pretty heavily (there are >250 pics up there, but I took 700-800 pictures (that's the problem with digital cameras, very low penality for taking too many shots!)).

Anyway, if you're interested, go have a look. There's a lot of pictures of the exhibition, some from the dinner (and the folding competition

), a full set of the model menu (as it was Friday evening anyway), and some pictures of Jason's, Jared's, and Eric's classes (though Jared was facing the other way in my pics). Sorry I didn't get any pictures of your class Anderw. I heard that it went well! Probably a good thing that you switched to a 2 hour block, eh?

Sorry about that. Guess teaching from the middle of the circle-clover seemed like a much better idea than it really was. Ah well, next time I'll know better.
