2.1 is based on 80x80, and, as chesslo said, 3.5 is based on 96x96.

Hey guys!
The second I saw the new pics Froy's Ryu Zins I made up my mind to finally attempt 3.5 myself (courtesy of the pic on xain_d_sleena's flickr account). This is my progress so far after, I don't know, 10 hours?

Folded out of four sheets of tracing paper taped to form one 38 x 38" (~1 x 1 m) square

I believe I have all the errors fixed and accounted for, I actually test folded the trickiest parts (head, tail and especially the legs), hopefully this all works out:)

Oh, I'm having quite an enjoyable time, insaneorigami!

I have the base mostly collapsed, now I just need to work on the rest of the scales...

Looking good!
My Flickr

Hi! It's been a long while since I've been active on here. I deleted my Dropbox years ago, so some things, like my Dragonfly Varileg guide, are lost to time. I may still have other things, though! Email me if you have any questions.

To those guys who have the LEGAL cp: Is the CP on xain_d_sleena's flickr correct, apart from the small errors where it is not flat-foldable? I was just wondering whether the general placement of the scales on the legs and stuff was right.

Simply because Kamiya has not released or shown a CP for it.

I want to fold Ryu-zin 3.1 so bad. No one folds it because it s CP hasn't been released. At all. Maybe someone has seen it, but no one has posted on the internet, and it has not been displayed at any conventions. If you've seen a 3.1 CP on the net, it was a "fan CP" meaning a fan of Kamiya kind of guessed at what it might look like by borrowing the legs from 3.5 and sticking them in the 2.1 CP, and noting differences in size of the toes etc. It may be fairly close, but it is not even a copy of a viewed Kamiya CP.

I have seen 1 or 2 3.1 surfing on the web and it's not har to do, I already know how to fold 2.1 legs with scales on shoulders, and the modified CP can be fitted easily in to the 3.5 CP.

I'm tempted to fold it to but I think is better fold the 3.5 if you know how to fold it.

I don't think that Kamiya has any plans to release the CP for 3.1 for a while; it took him almost a forever to put the 2.1 CP on his website (though it was easily obtainable long before he put it on his site). He has released the 3.5 CP (at a convention in Canada), but no sight of the 3.1 CP... hmmm.... 2.1 and 3.5.... ...but no 3.1... ...hmm....

I contacted him a few months ago, asking if the adress on his site was his e-mail, and he replied about a week later to tell that it was indeed his. I sent him another e-mail asking about the 3.1 CP, but he never replied.

EDIT: Great progress, Galen.. ...I finally made the connection that you were Shuki_kato on flickr... ..it took me ages, because I don't much look at recent contact uploads
