Every time that I fold 2.1, one thing constantly frustrates me - wasting all that paper at the tail, by just folding ordinary pleats. So, I finally got around to doing something about it :). I figured out a way to make a pretty simple tail that ends with some small spikes, sorta similar to 3.5, in a way. I'm folding it from a 36-inch square of t-foil, and it's coming great. Hopefully, I'll have some progress pics up soon :).

Aaaaaahhh.... satisfaction of a Ryu Jin well folded :).

To be honest with you, the paper tends to bag out by the lower legs, and I have to keep tucking it in after it changes position even slightly.

I think you should use non-foil tissue, and use a strong piece of wire to bend the body in to a "S" shape. You can shape the legs like in Ancient Dragon or Wizard also.

Ooooor you could wet-fold it. Then it will not lose its shape unless it gets wet.

I have tried out of plain tissue, but I find that it does not support the model. The scales wouldn't wrap around, and the joining of the scales was a pain. I ended up giving it up, but I should try again with some MC - I'm hoping to get some for Christmas :).

Thanks for the advice - I'll try again out of tissue soon enough.

@ storm12,
I have those you require, but I think we should first ask permission from Kafar and Froy, to whom the photos belong.

By the way, I suggest that you make your email to "florez87 AT gmail DOT com" when putting it on to this forum, or there will be lots of spam mails bothering you.

What piece of CP did you take for testing the tail?

Well, it's a combination of my own guesses and CP. After a couple of weeks, I discovered it. By analysing how flaps are arranged, it is more practical to guess. I don't know if this CP is correctly drawn, but I got the tail as correct as it is (except for the very end; it needs some corrections, and I think it has to be folded with another part of the model).

I really have no idea how I got the CP, but I have uploaded it here: http://img31.imageshack.us/i/35cp3.jpg/

As there is not a Ryu Zin 3.5 CP is 100 per cent correct, so I think I can upload it.

Sorry, but it's not very close to the correct 3.5 CP. The claws look like that of 2.1 and 3.1 - I can assure you that the 3.5 claws are many times more difficult to collapse than those. Also, the changing of the pleats on the leg scales (mountain-valley-blank-mountain-valley-blank) to regular pleats (mountain-valley-mountain-valley) is incorrect. The tail looks pretty good, but apart from that... Did you mean 3.1? Because this looks much more like it. If you did, then my mistake, and I apologize

That's why I said it was incorrect. The CP may be of 3.1, according to the legs being similar to 2.1.

I have several Ryu Zin 3.5 CP's. One which is on flickr uploaded by Artur, I think, has the correct legs, but not the tail.

It wasn't uploaded by Artur, and it hasn't correct legs, i.e. where scales connects the claws, tail is wrong too, and there are several mistakes (like trianles near claws) that won't make this cp flat foldable
