Help with CP

Hello, I'm new here and I'm trying to learn how to fold CPs.
I read the FAQ and a few web pages on this subject and decided to try a model that seemed easy, so I chose this one: http://design.origami.free.fr/bestof/go ... hcorgi.htm
I was able to make all the folds in the CP except for the tiny triangles on the bottom left quarter. I assumed they weren't necessary to begin and started trying to assemble the model...
But I just can't get anywhere. I suppose that the top right quarter of the CP is responsible for the head and that the bottom left corner will be the tail, I tried to fold it looking at the pictures, but I couldn't get anywhere near what it's supposed to look like.
Can you give me some tips on how to start assembling it?

first have a picture of the model in front of you and try to visualise which part of the paper become what part of the body the head is reverse folded into position
for the color change in the tail just fold the t#right angled triangle to make an isosceles triangle

Wow, THAT helps. I just hope that I can learn and fold from the cp one someday...

On the diagram there are lots of creases that are not on the cp. Are they necessary? Can I do it without them? Should I know that I need them just looking at the cp?

Of course the folding process produces creases that do not end up folded in the finished model. A CP only shows those that end up folded, not the ones made in the folding process.

And regarding if they are necessary, if you can fold the model without them, go ahead, but it is unlikely.
