Well I guess it's about time I start posting on the forums.

I've been dabbling with kami for a few months now since I've got back into origami but I've been starting to find it quite limiting. I find it tends to split and doesn't hold its shape very well on anything but the simplest of folds. I've had a quick scout about my area for some MC to try treating some tissue paper but until then I've had to settle for tissue-foil as the next best thing.

Here is my first attempt at making anything from tissue-foil and probably the most complex thing I've attempted to date
- Robert J. Lang's Ant from a 12" square. I'm quite proud of it although I'm sure I could improve the fold on a further attempt.

What I learnt from this model:
Squash sinks with tissue-foil are hard!
Even tissue-foil has a limit where thickness becomes an issue.
Tweezers help an awful lot in folding tissue-foil.

Anyway, back to making some more tissue-foil!

It is a nice fold :) I use alot of kami myself but I think i may have to progress into tissue foil and tissue + mc territory since some models are just unfoldable with the paper i have.

I made this several months ago but I've only just managed to remember my Flickr account password so that I can start uploading once again.

My first attempt at this model. I'm pleased to have finished it but I know that there is considerable room for improvement. Poor quality cameras can hide a lot of imperfections I've found of late! Had to make a few mid-fold repairs with masking tape to keep the thing intact! I might try with MC treated tissue paper or some bigger kraft paper on my next attempt as the paper was just beginning to get a little thick towards the end.
