Trust me Tom, i really desperatly want to find a sequence for an antelope with decent sized horns. I try a different sequence almost every day from copy paper to see if i get something good. I only have a few successful Antelopes...

then make a solid cp out of it. make sure to make a river to allow paper for the body - that is, one method I know:Circle Packing.

Maybe you should try experimenting with your Mantis design- you already have a base with 4 legs and 2 long flaps on the side of another long flap (ie head and horns). Do some crimps on the head flap to make ears and there's a start to get longer horns.
Then maybe try that same principle with 22.5 degree angles...
