New techniques from a mini preliminary base?

Just wondering if anyone has discovered any new techniques from a mini preliminary base? I found one, and i'll post it later.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean. Can you please tell in more detail what you are talking about and what you mean by a mini preliminary base?

I mean if anyone wants to share their ideas if they have made some new techniques from a small grafted preliminary base, on a square.

all i can think of is making it a birdbase or frog base or something like that.
is that what you mean?

I think I get it now. Inserting a graft to get more paper like lets say for the head of my dragon:

I don't know if this counts but i folded an elephant from a frog base. Actually I streched that base.

Basically, if you have made a new sequence that has never been done before from a grafted preliminary base, then share it if you wish to.

cool! I've found something and i'll post a vid on it tomorrow. It gets loads of flaps! (the head and chest of my gryphon for example, was made from it).

Isn't this what Quentin does in a lot of his models.The heads on his gorilla & chimp spring to mind.

The dragon is diagrammed in Gerwin Sturm's book "Origami - Kreative Falt-Ideen".

Yeah, he does do this with alot of his models.
