Ok, here's what's going on in Phoenix...
On February 26 and 27, the Arizona Matsuri is happening. Admission is free. The Arizona Origami Society will have a display of models folded by our members, as well as a hands-on teaching table for the kids. The festival itself is a lot of fun, and worth the time even if there wasn't origami there.
Traditionally, the Arizona Origami Society hosts an all day workshop with a renowned origamist on the Monday following the festival. We've had Michael LaFosse, Yami Yamauchi and Katsuta Kyohei in the past. This year, on February 28, we are excited to have Sok Song conduct the workshop. The cost is usually around $40, begins at about 9:00 am, and usually ends around 4:00 pm or so. We will have quite a few attendees from all over the country for this one this year. It should be a lot of fun.
On the second Saturday of each month, the meeting of the Arizona Origami Society is held at Bookman's, at 19th Avenue and Northern, from 1pm to 4pm. The meeting in March will be on the 12th.
