I keep telling myself the diagrams have to be misprinted. For instance from step 4 to step 5 if the valley fold on the left continues over the part that you must "take out a bit" it forces you into a squash fold.

Instead I folded the whole length of the paper uniformly (so as to appear to be a inside reverse fold). Am I doing this wrong? Because until I get to step 11, which perplexes me, I can't shake the feeling that I'm doing it wrong.

(Also with each step up to 11, the left side shows the valley fold covering that "take out a bit" part - driving me nuts!)

I think the diagrams are drawn that way to make sure, that you need to seperate the wings from the body. but that's quite confusing, because the best way to accomplish these steps is to fold the paper together including the top flap and do not pull out the wings until you are at step 12.
again: ignore step 3 and fold the paper together as one. pull out the wings in step 12 to get what you see in step 12.
that's the way I always manage to fold that model.

I just proof folded the dama and found out, that you need to seperate the wings a litte in an earlier step (where the top and the back paper meet each other). I will try to make pictures later...

i fiddled around per your suggestion. and it worked out really well. i appreciate the advice.
only thing i had difficulty with was the neck, just couldn't get it to fold in so i just pinched it narrow. but completed nonetheless. Thanks!

so i folded the whole edge (along the side) together without anything special like chris' advice, but it seems like i cant go on after step 13. On that step, If thats supposed to be a mountain fold, how do u make it so that the whole triangular section goes inside leaving just the thick portion pointing up wards.

then after that, on step 15, how is the model able to open that way if all the sides joint together on top.

....please help me on this one

This is a great model in my opinion. soon as I finish school tests I will fold it. Looks like there is a lot of room for redesigning that, legs instead of skirt, proper hands.

If the pm system is having problems, I will reapete. (it is not by the way, but just in case....)

It looks like a sink fold. In and out.
Others who have folded this model please verify this. I personally have not, but probably will.

step 14 is a open sink, in and out...
