I recently created this unit for modular origami. It's pretty much the same as a sonobe unit (it can make the same polyhedra and has a similar assembly), but more aesthetically pleasing and much simpler to make (if you consider dividing into thirds to be simple).
I was wondering if anyone has seen it before. Because it is so incredibly simple, I have my doubts that I'm the first person to stumble upon it.
Many thanks.

Thanks for the replies. They don't exactly answer my question though.
