Robert Lang - Scorpion

Post by Nathanael_Cotrus »

Can anyone help me with folding this model?

I don't know how to fold the second step, where you have to divide a right angle in seven equal angles.
Does anyone of you know a good way to get the exact folds without too many useless creases?

The only method that doesn't get a lot of creases is using a protractor.

I just thought about using a protractor, but that wouldn't be very exact, because 90/7=12,857142... and i always prefer the folding technique :D are there any online diagrams for the varileg scorpion?

Well to be honest a protractor would be a lot more accurate than the folding technique. The folding technique has a very large margin of error

It says on Lang's website that diagrams are found in OUSA Annual Collection 2003; JOAS Convention 10; and Origami Insects II.

Any online diagrams would obviously be illegal copyrighted material, and asking for said materials is not allowed on this forum.

Go for 13° and let the last one take whatever is left and you should be fine.
